Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Shindig.

Shindig is operated by Koder Ltd. In these Terms, "we", "us", and "our" refer to Koder Ltd, and "Shindig" refers to the Shindig application and related services.

By accessing or using Shindig, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree to them, you must not use the service.

1. Who can use Shindig

You must be at least 16 years old to use Shindig.

By using Shindig, you confirm that:

• you meet the minimum age requirement
• the information you provide is accurate
• you will use the service only in a lawful and reasonable way

2. About the service

Shindig is an event planning and coordination app. It allows users to create and manage events, invite people, respond to invitations, chat with event members, upload event photos, manage tasks, take part in polls, manage contacts, and maintain a shared event ledger.

The shared ledger is a record-keeping tool only. Shindig does not process payments, act as a payment intermediary, or move money between users. Any settlement recorded in the app is an off-platform arrangement between users.

3. Accounts and access

You may sign in using supported authentication methods, including Google OAuth and email magic links.

You are responsible for:

• maintaining access to your email account or identity provider
• keeping your account information up to date
• all activity that takes place through your account

You must not impersonate another person, access another person's account without permission, or use Shindig to create misleading or fraudulent accounts.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use Shindig in a way that breaks the law
• harass, abuse, threaten, or harm other users
• upload or share unlawful, infringing, defamatory, abusive, or obscene content
• interfere with or disrupt the service
• attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or data
• use the service to send spam or misleading invitations
• misuse event chats, shared content, or contact tools

We may suspend, restrict, or remove access where we reasonably believe these Terms have been breached, where your use creates risk for other users or the service, or where doing so is necessary for legal, security, or operational reasons.

5. User content

You may provide content through Shindig, including profile information, event details, messages, polls, tasks, links, FAQ content, and gallery uploads.

You remain responsible for the content you submit.

By submitting content to Shindig, you confirm that:

• you have the right to submit it
• it does not violate the law or the rights of others
• it is not misleading, abusive, or harmful

You grant us a non-exclusive, limited right to host, store, process, reproduce, and display that content only as necessary to operate, secure, maintain, and improve Shindig.

6. Event gallery uploads

Photos uploaded to an event gallery are treated as event content, not private storage.

This means:

• event members may be able to view photos uploaded to that event according to the app's permissions
• photos may remain associated with the event even if the original uploader later deletes their account
• users should remove any event photos they want deleted before closing their account

Users can also flag images for review where supported by the app.

You should not upload content that you do not have permission to share.

7. Privacy

Our handling of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy. By using Shindig, you also acknowledge that your information will be processed in line with that policy.

8. Service availability and changes

We may update, improve, suspend, or discontinue parts of Shindig at any time.

We do not guarantee that Shindig will always be available, uninterrupted, error-free, secure in all circumstances, or suitable for every purpose. Features may change over time, including features that are currently free.

9. Third-party services

Shindig may rely on third-party services to operate, such as authentication, hosting, storage, email delivery, or infrastructure providers.

We are not responsible for the independent acts or omissions of third-party providers, but we do take reasonable steps to choose services appropriate for operating the app.

10. Termination and account closure

You may stop using Shindig at any time.

We may suspend or terminate access to the service if:

• you breach these Terms
• we reasonably believe your use creates risk for other users or the service
• we are required to do so for legal, security, or operational reasons

Where accounts are deleted, some data may be removed, anonymised, or retained where reasonably necessary for legal, security, operational, or historical event-integrity reasons.

11. Disclaimers

Shindig is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the fullest extent permitted by law.

We do not promise that:

• the service will always be available or secure
• all data will always be preserved without interruption or loss
• users will behave appropriately or truthfully
• off-platform arrangements between users will be completed as expected

Users remain responsible for their own decisions, event planning, communications, and off-platform arrangements.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Koder Ltd will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or loss-of-profit damages arising from or related to your use of Shindig.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation would be unlawful, including liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Where liability cannot be excluded but can be limited, our liability will be limited to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

If a dispute arises in connection with these Terms or your use of Shindig, the courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction, except where applicable consumer laws in your country of residence provide otherwise.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date on the page. Continued use of Shindig after an updated version takes effect means you accept the revised Terms.
